Tumbledown in the Butterscotch colourway layers overlapping rectangles around a central oval, in brown, beige, grey and muted blue and green. The geometry gives it structure and the soft, earthy colours keep it gentle, so the rug feels both artistic and grounded. It suits a modern living room, a home office or a loft as an accent piece.
Founded by James Tufenkian in New York, the brand hand-cards, hand-spins and hand-knots its rugs in Nepal from Tibetan highland wool that keeps its natural lanolin, which helps the pile resist soil and stains.
From the maker: Tufenkian likens Tumbledown to the work of Piet Mondrian: a composition of stacked blocks that brings a sense of modern art to the floor.

Hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs show slight variations in colour, pattern and dimension; they are part of the piece. Vacuum without a beater bar, rotate once or twice a year, and use a rug pad on hard floors. Blot spills immediately with a clean, damp cloth; for anything more, use a professional rug cleaner.

We ship within Canada from our Winnipeg warehouse. Orders are processed in 1–3 business days and shipping is calculated at checkout by destination and rug size. All sales are final: because every rug is one of a kind, we cannot offer returns or exchanges, so please ask us for extra photos or a video before you order. If a rug arrives damaged, email photos of the rug and packaging to contact@bmdmaterials.com within 48 hours of delivery and we will start a carrier claim with you.
